Naracoorte Heritage Trail

About

Take a walk around Naracoorte and discover the stories since it’s settlement.

There are 18 sites to discover in and around Naracoorte’s Town Centre.

Around the Naracoorte Town Square there are 10 markers that highlight points of historical significance around the Naracoorte Town Square and tell the stories behind how and why Naracoorte was established in its location, and how it has evolved since its establishment 150 years ago.

Markers tell the story of Naracoorte’s first building – the Caledonian Inn, the Naracoorte Hotel, W T Gore’s House Site, the Naracoorte Lucindale Council Office (Windera), Kincraig Hotel and ‘Under-The-Verandahs’, Church Hill, Aitcheson Grieve’s Blacksmith Shop, Rivoli Picture Theatre, ANZ Bank and the Town Squares.

The Heritage Trail complements the paved Walk of Honour around the Naracoorte War Memorial. The Walk of Honour provides a lasting memorial to people from the Naracoorte district who served our country.
