Located on the eastern end of Mount Gambier’s main street, the South Eastern Hotel is a classic country pub known for its friendly atmosphere, generous meals, and strong local following.

The front bar is where the action is – cold beers, pool tables, TAB and Keno, and screens for live sport. Friday nights are a local favourite, with the weekly raffle drawing a full house and creating the kind of atmosphere that gives visitors a real taste of Mount Gambier.

The bistro delivers exceptional value meals with generous serves, alongside one of the hotel’s standout features – an enormous self-serve salad and hot vegetable bar included with every main meal.

Families are welcome, with an enclosed indoor playground located behind a closed door next to the family-friendly bistro, allowing kids to play while adults enjoy a relaxed meal.

In warmer months, the all-weather outdoor beer garden and lawn area provide a laid-back space to unwind, with dogs welcome in outdoor areas.
